Introduction

Calcitriol provides a synthetic form of the active metabolite of vitamin D3, essential for the regulation of calcium and phosphorus in the body. This supplement supports calcium absorption from the intestines, promotes calcium resorption from the kidneys, and helps in the regulation of parathyroid hormone. It serves as an effective means to address vitamin D3 insufficiency or to regulate calcium metabolism in individuals where normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus is insufficient.

Use

Treatment of hypocalcemia in individuals with chronic renal failure.

Management of secondary hyperparathyroidism in individuals with chronic renal failure on dialysis.

Treatment of hypocalcemia and metabolic bone disease in individuals with hypoparathyroidism.

Dosing and administration

calcitriol should be taken orally with food to enhance absorption and minimize gastrointestinal discomfort. Dosage frequency is typically once daily.
